Breaking Benzo provides 24/7 comprehensive medication tapering and withdrawal management from habit-forming medications such as pain killers, benzos, anti-depressants and sleeping aids. Our personalized program provides support, guidance, therapy and medication management from professional coaches and medically-licensed psychiatrists on an ongoing basis to help you taper off of habit-forming medications safely and effectively. All this, while managing your withdrawal symptoms and providing tools to prevent any distress you may encounter.

 

What types of results can I expect?

Research shows that online interventions are as effective as face-to-face interventions for medication tapering. Our programs will empower you to reduce your dependence on habit-forming medications significantly within months and hopefully eliminate dependence completely. Results vary based on member's situations and abilities.

 

What is the time commitment?

Breaking Benzo is intended to fit into your life and needs. You are required to provide daily feedback via our digital web intake form so that our care team can continue to monitor your condition and progress on an on-going basis. But other than that, we empower you and provide guidance for you to follow through on a daily basis. Results vary by members. Typically, you should see significant progress within weeks of starting the program.

 

How personalized will my program be?

Your personal Health Coach working with your psychiatrist will create your unique tapering program which is customized for your medication, situation and needs. Your treatment plan will evolve in congruence with your unique situation and will be retailored as often as necessary by our care team. Our goal is to break your medication dependence and to do this effectively we will build and optimize your personalized plan every step of the way based on our clinical protocol and philosophy.

 

Why do I need a Health Coach?

Your personal Health Coach will play an important role in gathering relevant information about your unique situation. They will then confer with your psychiatrist and together they will start create your unique tapering program. During the course of your program, your personal health coach will be digitally communicating with you and tracking relevant symptoms and variables DAILY and working with the psychiatrist on an on-going basis to ensure that you're making progress. You can expect regular communication with your Health Coach. You can also reach your Health Coach via email anytime with questions and concerns and she will get back to you within 24 hours.

 

Why do I need a Psychiatrist?

Psychiatrists have Doctorates of Medicine (graduated from medical school) who are trained in medication management as well as in management of withdrawal symptoms. Our psychiatrists will build your personalized tapering plan and monitor your progress on an on-going basis to ensure we are tapering your medication dosage as well as prescribing any medication, as needed, to manage any side effects and withdrawal symptoms.

 

How do I sign up for Breaking Benzo?

You can sign-up for Breaking Benzo at this Sign-Up page. Fill out the short questionnaire, enroll in our monthly plan and our Health Coach will contact you immediately to on-board you into our program and start building your own unique tapering plan.

 

How old do I need to be for your program?

You need to be 18 years or older to participate in our program.

How much does Breaking Benzo program cost?

Breaking Benzo has a simple and affordable monthly subscription plan. Please review the payments page for more details.

 

What dooes the program include?

The program includes:

  2. Unlimited 24/7 messaging with your Health Coach
  3. Two video sessions with a licensed psychiatrist including medication management
  4. Cancel anytime. Full 1st month refund if not satisfied, no questions asked.

 

Will insurance cover Breaking Benzo?

We currently do not accept any insurance. Hence, we are considered an 'out-of-network' provider. You will be provided with all the necessary documentation required for potential reimbursement (common with PPO plans). Many clients in our practice get reimbursed a substantial portion of the fees through your existing health plan.

 

How can I cancel my Breaking Benzo subscription?

Please go to the Care Team Messaging page. Go to the Cancel Monthly Subscription section. Fill out the form and submit. We will cancel your subscription within 24 hours.

What should I expect to do daily?

Once you on-board and start our program, we will remind you to fill out a Daily Feedback form.

 

Health Coaches & Messaging

Who are the coaches? Why do I need a coach?

Our Health Coaches are hired based on a few common principles. They are kind, empathic, non-judgemental, bright, responsible and competent. All the qualities that we think a Health Coach needs to have to help our members defeat their dependence on habit-forming medications.

 

Will I have the same Health coach throughout my program?

Yes. You will have the same coach throughout your program.

 

When I message my Health coach, am I connecting with a live person?

Yes. When you send a message to a Health Coach, a live person will review and respond to your message within 24 hours.

 

How can I submit feedback (good or bad) about my coach?

Psychiatrists & Medication Management

Who are the psychiatrists? Why do I need them? How will they help?

How often can I see my psychiatrist?

Every two weeks, but they will be constantly checking and assessing your tapering program.

 

Can I switch psychiatrists?

Yes. If you are not satisfied with your psychiatrist for any reason then let us know and we will do our best to switch psychiatrist.

What is the difference between in-person visit and telehealth?

Telehealth sessions are conducted over private video sessions. Research has shown them to be equally effective. At the same time, it improves access and convenience for our members.

 

What if I have an emergency?

If you are in an emergency situation, in imminent risk, have thoughts of hurting/killing yourself or anyone else, please call 911 or head to your nearest emergency room. We are not an emergency psychiatric service.

 

Do I have to provide feedback daily?

It is highly recommended that our Members provide daily feedback via the Care Team Messaging page. Daily Feedback will allow the care team to monitor your progress on a daily basis and optimize your plan as needed.

 

How do I provide daily feedback?

Once you on-board and start our program, we will remind you to fill out a Daily Feedback form.

 

What if I miss providing feedback?

Our care team will contact you to remind you to provide feedback so that we can continue to effectively monitor your progress.

 

Privacy

Is my information private?

Your privacy and security are paramount. We provide a fully accredited and licensed medical provider, with board-certified (and board-eligible) psychiatrists. Our systems, product and procedures are HIPAA compliant.

 

How do I know that my billing info is secure and will not be used to identify me?

To ensure anonymity, Breaking Benzo uses a third party services that will verify, charge, and handle all billing on our behalf. This process is secure and completely private.
